- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆They are closed from 12:00PM until 2:00PM then close for the day at 4:30PM before most people even get off work so if you have a package you have to ask for time off work to pick it up since they don't open until 8:30AM. The mail is often placed in the wrong mail box you might get it a week later or not at all depending on whose mail box it was placed in! Good luck if you depend on Whitakers Post Office. I am getting a Post Office box and yes will drive to Rocky Mount every day. The poorest delivery I have ever seen!!By Gail Jones, March 15, 2017
